For those who don't like a long review. Product- terrific ice cream Price- cheap for what they are serving Location- petting zoo for the kids and a gazebo for old folks I don't know how they make ice cream like this but it keeps me coming back for more!! It's soooo rich and creamy, didn't taste like other ice cream places, tastes like they invest in their flavors. They have a vast variety as well as the basics. Their cherry vanilla is exquisite and their pig pen is very very tasty. Prices are low for what they are dishing out (pun intended)a medium size is enough for an ice cream fanatic such as myself. I would give them 500 stars if I could. Interesting location too!

Two words, Cashew Caramel. I went here the other day with my family and everyone was very happy with their selection.

Dayum, that's good ice cream. While we were eating our ice cream, I had a conversation with some of the cows to find out what their secret was. "Moo" was all they would say. I really thought they'd speak English. Next time I'll have to go back again with an interpreter.

Really great ice cream (and we just so happen to have to drive right by every time we visit my mother-in-law). There always seem to be a couple of different flavors each time we visit, but the Needham flavor is one of my favorites, and my husband does love the Candy Store Floor flavor. I tried their Grandma's PB Fudge and that was really good, and I tried a couple of flavors last summer that I missed on our visit this summer (Hazelnut Chip and Almond Macaroon)... both tasty. If you have children, it's a great place to visit or stop on your way... Lots of animals that you can watch and get close to. All in all, the flavor isn't as amazing as a couple of my top favs, but the texture is spot on and the atmosphere is pretty lovely for a summertime ice cream stop. I'd highly recommend.

Toots never disappoints. Even being from WI, Toots is number 1. The zesty lemon is amazing! It is a special. May the odds be with you.

Great ice cream! Tons of cool enticing flavors! Went with the Mexican smores :) all the components you'd expect just the chocolate has a kick of spices. The scoops are so big they had to put it in a bowl cause the cone couldn't support it!

We LOVED Toots! So cute. Delicious ice cream, so worth the trip. So many original flavors, hard to choose. We chose the whoopie pie and the almond joy specials, amazing! We chose "tootsie" sized cones, but definitely could have gone with "baby"! Our preschoolers left happy. WARNING!! They do NOT accept CC's as listed on Yelp. Thank goodness one of us had cash. Must try this ice cream spot for a change of scenery!!

Oh man. DELISH. This place totally hit the spot after lunch one day -- so many mouthwatering flavors, perfect sugar cone, and ice cream piled HIGH!

Such a fun place! My 2 year old was too excited by the caboose, animals, and the toys in the yard to even eat his ice cream! Maybe next time? :) I however, did eat mine, and it was delicious! I tried a sample of licorice just out of curiosity, and I'm not even a fan of licorice.... But it was seriously good! I plan to get a full serving of it next time! Yum!!

Best ice cream around! Love it, love it. With lots of fantastic home made flavors, and farm animals to occupy the kids, this little place is always buzzing during the warm months. I wouldn't go anywhere else to cool off with a cone!

Ice cream shop on a dairy farm. Did I mention it's in a train caboose? Tons of flavors, packed full of different types of treats from the traditional strawberry to "Candy store floor" which has numerous types of chocolates. The servings are large and the prices are good too. My only suggestion is labeling what the flavors are, although the employees know all of them back and forth and are more than happy to help.

Best ice cream I've ever had ANYWHERE. My favorite flavors: Grandma's PB Fudge - Vanilla base with chunks of real Reese's PB cups. Sinful Chocolate - Chocolate base with chunks of homemade brownies, chocolate chips, and Oreos. Candy Store Floor - Vanilla base with Twix bars, Butterfingers, Nestle Crunch, and caramel cups. Cash only!

Unbelievable ice cream! Creamy and toothy at the same time. Really creative flavors like Pig Pen (coffee with Oreos) and Ladybug (strawberry with chocolate chips). They also do sorbet and fabulous gelato in flavors like pear and apricot, some of the best I've had. One of the few places I know that does 5 different sizes of ice cream, great for kids or if you want to try to keep down portion sizes. Really neat atmosphere with the caboose, animals, and farm buildings. You must have a visit.

Toots has been the best ice cream I've had all summer. Summer's for ice cream and given that I've been burning the calories on my bike, I've been splurging of late. Sampled a cross-section of the "big names" in the area and Toots is the cream of the crop. Speaking of cream, I believe this local farmer uses their excess cream as a value-added way of diversifying their farming operation. I've done the sugar cone and waffle cone versions of the single scoop each time. I love their Grandma's PB cup ice cream. Mary's sold on their orange/pineapple. Ample flavors and the small (which is a filling, full scoop) is $2.50. Located on Rte 115 in North Yarmouth, just beyond the double bridges on Main Street.

I love Maine, and one of the reasons for that love is the amazing homemade ice cream you find in every town or, in this case, in the countryside between towns. This ice cream stop is right on the dairy farm, and was the best we had our entire trip (and we ate so much ice cream my daughter no longer wanted it anymore -- we actually broke a 5 year old's will to eat ice cream!). Best peach i've ever had, but the blueberry and chocolate were also very good. But that peach will be on our "best ever" list for the foreseeable future!

Perfect texture on this firm, resistant ice cream. Falvors were good but perhaps not quite bold enough.

Without a doubt this was the best ice cream we had in Maine. Its a little roadside stand in a caboose. Its on a dairy farm and they have cows all around for you to look at and moo at ;-) They make the ice cream on premise in this little white building next to where they serve it. Rich and creamy with a wide variety of flavors. Its close to Freeport so if you are shopping or whatever, its close by. We were in Maine 4 days and we came here 3 times. Great premium ice cream with different flavors every day. If they sell out of one, its gone for awhile until they make some more. 3 scoop sundae was like 4.50 and its a ton of ice cream. Very friendly ladies serving the ice cream and a nice stop to get some of the best ice cream you will ever have. Guaranteed!

Yes! A real farm! The ice cream stand really is in a converted caboose. You just can't get any more awesome than that. Oh wait, you can... Because the ice cream is the best I've had in years. Homemade. How's this for local flavor... Chocolate Whoopie Pie. It'll rock your world. Wonderful staff... This truly is an ice cream paradise. Perfect in every way!

I was craving ice cream so badly that my boyfriend and I went off course to get some from Toots. I immediately liked the place when I saw that it was a stand on a farm - it just gives you the idea that your delicious desert is made from the cow's milk that is grazing nearby. Although it isn't the best ice cream we've ever had (my bf is an ice cream fanatic), it hit the spot. The shack had some imaginative flavors and moderate prices (I disagree with the $$$ sign rating - a large was around $3). This is a good place to stop for homemade ice cream to fulfill a craving!

Very creamy and flavorful ice cream. The first time I was here a few months ago I had maple walnut with a very robust and natural maple syrup flavor although a little short on the walnuts. Today I had the flavor of the day: Chumley Cherry. It was a very tasty concoction. The quantities are more realistic than typical at ice cream stands. In other words, small means small (less product than you might find in a "kid's size" at some places). The prices are, however, fairly appropriate. The setting is great. A railroad car in a dairy farm - wonderful!

the ice cream is very good and the prices aren't bad but be prepared for a moderately long chat with someone in line. on a sunday night at 8:30 we were in line for about fifteen minutes?!
